LAKE MALAWI LARGEST & DEEPEST LAKE IN THE WORLD

Lake Malawi🇲🇼 Lake Malawi, also known as Lake Nyasa in Tanzania and Lago Niassa in Mozambique, is one of the largest and deepest freshwater lakes in the world. 

Located in East Africa, it spans across three countries: Malawi, Tanzania, and Mozambique. With a length of about 580 kilometers (360 miles) and a maximum depth of 706 meters (2,316 feet), it's the third-largest lake in Africa by surface area and the ninth largest in the world.

The lake is famous for its biodiversity, especially the numerous species of cichlid fish. It's also an important water source for the surrounding regions and supports local fishing industries. Additionally, it's clear waters and scenic beauty make it a popular destination for tourists, with activities like diving, snorkeling, and boat trips being common.

Lake Malawi is also notable for its role in the Great Rift Valley, where geological activity has shaped the lake’s formation over millions of years. The lake's ecosystem is both fragile and vital, facing challenges such as pollution and overfishing.
